Kevin McDowell and Joyce Soriano-McDowell, a husband and wife team, have combined experience of over 40 years in commercial real estate, private equity, accounting & finance, and business with both of them starting their professional careers at Big 4 accounting firms.
Since then, they have worked for large, private equity, real estate investment and development firms in a variety of C-suite roles. Within these positions, they have completed several billions in acquisitions, managed multi-billion in assets, engaged in development of real estate properties, ran property management, placed debt and equity on several billion in transactions representing both sides and worked extensively in repositioning companies and their assets.
Kevin McDowell, Founding Partner
Kevin McDowell’s comprehensive 18-year plus career in commercial real estate includes developing a company’s strategic vision, acquisitions, asset management, property management, development, and finance. Mr. McDowell is an innovative strategist that has acquired the nuts and bolts of real estate investing from the best multinational companies in the industry, where he acquired and managed all major property types, including multi-family, retail, office, student housing, industrial, mixed-use, hotels, urban land and residential.
After graduating from the California State University at Northridge with a B.S. in Accountancy, Mr. McDowell worked for Ernst & Young, LLP in the Real Estate Practice as an auditor for the top real estate firms. Afterwards, Mr. McDowell joined his largest privately-held client as VP of Finance. Subsequently, Mr. McDowell worked for several reputable firms in various C-suite roles where he led acquisitions, asset management, property management, infrastructure transitions, portfolio workouts, financial and operational turnarounds of companies and portfolio investments, etc.
Joyce Soriano-McDowell, Founding Partner
Joyce Soriano-McDowell, a licensed CPA (Inactive), has worked for several, multi-billion commercial real estate development and investment companies throughout Southern California. Her career includes roles as CFO, Controller, Director of Information Technology, and other titles. She has over 20 years proven experience in analyzing, implementing and achieving operational excellence for profit maximization. She is an expert in efficiently utilizing resources in real estate and other industries, strategic planning, managing assets, evaluating multi-billion commercial real estate transactions, appraising real estate assets, increasing revenues and developing a company’s vision and direction.
Currently, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Real Estate and Construction Committee. Finally, Ms. Soriano-McDowell is a graduate of the University of Southern California where she received a Master in Business Taxation as well as dual Bachelor of Science Degrees majoring in Accounting, Finance and Information Systems.
